Green chalcedony, space for courage

From the Ancient city of Chalcedon.

Chalcedony is the term used to indicate the cryptocrystalline and microcrystalline types of quartz, when these occur in masses. Not to be confused with Malachite or Green Jade, less rare stones and as we will see less powerful.

This multitude of colors in nature makes it suitable for working on all seven chakras.

In general it is the stone of self-confidence, of clarity both in expressing oneself and in understanding what others want to communicate to us. For this reason it is the stone of speakers and of those who have to address an audience. Traditionally, it was carried with you when you had to face a legal case.

Green Chaldedony owes its color to the presence of iron silicate and is par excellence the stone of respect for others, but above all for oneself.

Helps self-esteem.

It helps us not to sell ourselves short in order to please others, but to affirm our personality, regardless of what the multitude may think.

The Heliotrope, the gem and its legend

When the green chalcedony appears dotted with red you have the Heliotrope gem.

Its name, which it shares with the sunflower plant, derives from the fact that in ancient times it was attributed the property of changing color when hit by sunlight.

For ancient Christians the small red dots symbolized the blood of Christ falling to the ground from the Cross.

This reference to blood led to the belief that this gem was capable of healing wounds of the spirit and body.

In this stone the red energy of the first chakra and that of the green ray of the heart are combined. It gives stability and security when needed because reality gets complicated.

It gives mental clarity to act without being overwhelmed by stress or fear.

Let’s remember that blood is the very flow of life that brings strength to every corner of our body. Heliotrope leads us on the path of the most intelligent courage, which does not push us towards unnecessary risks, but does not make us tremble in the face of moments of uncertainty that inevitably occur in our lives.

It evokes courage and brings to light the spiritual warrior that hides within us.

Our long battle with anger

‘You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.

Let man conquer anger with love’

(Buddha)

Every day we fight against ourselves to not let anger or anger prevail.

Towards colleagues, family members and even strangers. When our soul suffers misunderstandings and injustices, it tends to rise up and rebel.

Feeling anger or aggression in life is more than normal, however, if we do not want to create a desert around us, we must understand how to limit it and how to channel this energetic push towards a constructive and corrective attitude.

This stone, like green stones generally, has enormous strength in this sense. It rebalances the mind and spirit and helps us not to be overwhelmed, and then perhaps regret it, or even enslaved by this demon.

Even on a physical level, anger affects our liver, but this precious gem detoxifies it.

I must admit that when I wear it I feel this happen almost immediately, even if it wasn’t easy at the beginning, precisely because of its enormous strength. For this very reason, my friends, I recommend using it sparingly.

We are therefore faced with a long patient battle, which may even have moments of defeat, but which in the long run will see love and harmony prevail.
